Director of Production
What you will do:
-
Plan and operate a TEDx conference from conception to execution, from the first blueprint to the final bow.
-
Collaborate with Operations and Marketing to conceptualize and experiment with the visual, the technical, and the aesthetic of the stage and set.
-
Work with vendors (AV, lighting, tech) to coordinate production needs.
-
Set up, test, troubleshoot, and operate AV and lighting equipment.
-
Lead volunteers to ensure smooth operations of the conference.
What we are looking for
-
An intuition for creative, outside-the-box thinking.
-
A dedication to detail, from logistics management to communications.
-
A hardworking attitude with self-initiative to problem-solve and turn plans into action.
-
A willingness to learn as you go.
-
Past experience in AV, events management, set design, creative direction, production, and technical theatre is a bonus. Partner (Marketing, Finance, Co-Chairs), and mentor any junior volunteers, while adhering to deadlines.
What's in it for you?
-
Explore beyond a conference and learn about the world behind it: technical, logistical, and creative, behind-the-scenes from the view behind the curtain.
-
Connect, grow, guide, and be guided by a lively team as you explore the events and media industry.
-
Build and enforce creative, critical, and logistical thinking while making a real impact in the community.
